We’re proud to announce Friends of Bonobos is now a nonprofit partner of 1% for the Planet. This global alliance includes 6,000 businesses and individual members who have pledged to support effective environmental organizations.
“The 1% for the Planet network is a powerful way to connect companies and individuals with our urgent mission -- to end the bonobo crisis in our lifetimes,” said Ariel Rogers, Executive Director of Friends of Bonobos.
“We are delighted to be part of the 1% for the Planet network, and we look forward to partnering with members to rescue, rewild, and protect bonobos for the long haul,” Rogers said.
1% for the Planet works to make environmental giving easy and effective through third-party certification, partnership advising and impact storytelling. Businesses pledge to donate 1% of their annual sales to nonprofit organizations that are vetted by 1% for the Planet and known for doing high-impact work for the environment, such as Friends of Bonobos.
Since its founding, 1% for the Planet members have given more than $310 million to approved nonprofit partners. Learn more at onepercentfortheplanet.org.
First Partner
Friends of Bonobos’ first corporate supporter through 1% for the Planet is Saola Shoes, which makes footwear from recycled and sustainable materials.
Saola Shoes has pledged 1% of all sales to support preserving biodiversity, including bonobos.
"We’re grateful to Saola for choosing to support bonobos, and delighted to begin this partnership,” Rogers said.
